Glass art reflects well-being

Summer 2026 intensive courses announced
Registration for next summer’s glassblowing courses is now open! On the week-long intensive courses, experienced glassmakers from around the world will challenge you to push the boundaries of creativity and technique.

EXHIBITIONS
Shared Glow
PRYKÄRI VINTTIGALLERIA | 22 NOV 2025 – SPRING 2026
The exhibition brings together art works by international artists who have worked in Nuutajärvi, many of which were created in collaboration with local artisans. The pieces come from the village, the artists, and various collections.

Easter at the Glass Village
4 April 2026 | 9–15
Easter in Finland’s oldest glass village offers things to see and do for the whole family: glassblowing, small Easter adventures for children, and delicious treats in the historic setting.
Glassblowing experience
Try glassblowing and create your own glass rose, ball or swan between 11 AM and 3 MP. Experiences 50 €/person must be booked in advance: myynti@nuutajarvenlasi.fi

There is a lot to see in the Glass Village:
· Enjoy lunch at Pruuki Bistro or coffee at the cozy Café Olderman
· Admire Oiva Toikka’s iconic glass birds in the permanent Lintukoto exhibition
· Dive into the story of Finnish glass design at the Prykäri Glass Museum – featuring the Shared Glow exhibition in the Vinttigalleria and works by Samuli Parkkinen in the Aula
· Wander through the 19th‑century surroundings and explore the village’s galleries and boutiques
· Stop by Pub Airanne for a drink (after 4 PM)
· Stay overnight and complete your visit with a peaceful sleep at Kylähotelli 1793

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Glass Village is easy to reach by car. The village is located in the middle of forests in Urjala, between Tampere and Turku, and there is plenty of free parking available for visitors.
By car, the trip takes less than an hour from Tampere, about an hour from Turku, and about two hours from Helsinki or Lahti.

Yes. The village’s own Kylähotelli 1793 offers peaceful accommodation right in the heart of the Glass Village. The hotel’s 18 unique rooms open directly into the atmosphere of an 1850s glassworks.

Outside the summer season, cafés, restaurants, and the museum may operate with reduced opening hours. Up-to-date information can always be found on the Info page.
