Inside the world of Toikka’s glass birds

Few objects are as closely linked to Finnish glass art as the glass birds created by professor, artist Oiva Toikka (1931–2019). Over the decades, these hand-blown sculptures have found their way into homes, collections, and museums around the world.

GIVE A GLASS ROSE EXPERIENCE AS A MOTHER’S DAY GIFT

Give a handmade glass rose created by the participant herself or together with loved ones. On Mother’s Day, professional guidance introduces participants to working with glowing molten glass using the traditional pinching technique, resulting in a unique glass rose paperweight. The color of the rose can be chosen from the available options on the day.

Glass experiences are available on Sunday between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Price: €60 per person

Advance booking is required, as places are limited: myynti@nuutajarvenlasi.fi
